Stratford
Today, it’s a vibrant neighbourhood with the largest shopping centres in London, a world class leisure centre with an olympic-sized pool, local and ethnic restaurants, traditional English pubs, independent breweries, striking street art and an ever changing entertainment scene. Located next to two big parks; Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Victoria Park, it’s only 20 minutes away from the City by tube or 30 minutes by bike.
Back in the day, Stratford was a small farmers’ town and it was the number one in potato production. Who doesn’t love potatoes? It came a long way since then though, and rapidly transformed after the 18th century to a well-connected transport hub. Since the Olympics in 2012, Stratford has been revived as a new residential centre in East London and its urban regeneration has attracted many young professionals who work in The City.
Take a step outside Tanners House, and you are on a lovely residential street with Victorian houses.
Only a short walk away from you is the huge Olympic Park & Village, perfect for an active lifestyle offering a range of leisure activities (gym, pool, climbing wall).
Walk it.
You have all the best supermarkets; Morrisons, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, and Waitrose for your weekly shopping, and the huge Westfield for the best brands, bowling alley, cinema and more. On a Friday evening, you can stay local and visit a classic like King Edward VII or sip on cocktails while watching a film on the big screen at Pitch Stratford. Feeling like a homebody? You have countless options of takeaway from Thai, Japanese, Chinese to African food.

Night owls, on the other hand, can find themselves in London’s youngest hub of arts, music and nightlife scene Hackney Wick, only one stop away
